Jesus was born

by a pregnant teenage woman

into a poor oppressed village

under the rule of a mercenary king

within a forgotten people group

of a violent nation

and there lay the Shalom of the Kingdom

not the Kingdom that was expected

not the kingdom of Herod

not a kingdom of violence but peace

He was

A real vulnerable child

The real Son of God

In every way human

In every way God

He came

as an expression of Love

a sacrifice for Sin

as the inaugurated Kingdom

as Shalom

He would

make the world right

see that justice was done

make heaven and earth one

All creation sings for the joy of the advent King

“For Unto us this day a child is born”

the darkness has seen a great light

they have increased in joy

your yoke is now His burden

for a Son is given

humanity and divinity

His name

Wonderful Counselor

Mighty God

Everlasting Father

Prince of Peace

He has no end

Today because of Him

“let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
