Dignity Feb 4th – 6th 2010

City Church Eastside will be hosting a gathering entitled “Dignity” highlighting the Christian response to modern day slavery and sex trafficking through the use of the arts, media and activism. It will be held in One Twelve Gallery http://onetwelvegallery.com

This is a great opportunity to support a church that is actively engaging their local community through city renewal, and to help stop one of our modern day tragedies. If you attend Thursday night there is a film screening “Kavi”, a short film on modern day slavery in India.

Redeemer City to City

Great video here by the folks at Redeemer City to City.  I’ve been very encouraged by Tim Keller and the movement he has been involved with. One great fault of western Christianity is the lack of a holistic view of salvation and faith.  Meaning we’ve only focused on reconciling peoples relationship with God and left out many of the other relationships that the sin has corrupted.  To be “For the City” as many churches today claim calls for a drastic shift in methodology.  ”Seek the welfare of the City”
